Bio
My work is inspired by organic forms drawn from botany, anatomy, and religious iconography. The patterns found in the structures of plant and animal cells act as a resource for abstract and color-infused compositions. The symbols and ornamentation of religious imagery also play a vital role in my work. In uniting these themes and images, my paintings explore the human urge to organize philosophical and spiritual thinking into physical and visual forms.
I work primarily with gouache, chalk pastel, oil pastel, and graphite on paper and various textiles including cloth and felt.
